A couple of things impress us about Markes. Firstly, they've been doing what they do for a long time in a pretty crowded industry. Second, if you spend any time with, Jack Davis, the founder of the company, you will be left in no doubt about how committed the company is to customer care.

Markes also supports the Bluffton community by donating $500 a month to a local charity, which is picked by the people of Bluffton via their website

While it's not easy to get excited about air conditioning, what makes Markes stand out is their commitment to giving their customers a job done right for a fair price. It seems to us that using that simple philosophy is probably why the company is celebrating their 40th year of business here in Bluffton.

About The Company

Marke's was formed in 1967 under the name of Marke's Heating and Air Conditioning Company. The service area was limited to the Hilton Head Island, SC area.

In 1971, Jack Davis became the first full-time employee at Marke's Heating and Air Conditioning Company. After years as a service technician, Jack became the administrator for the company.

In 1972, Marke's Heating and Air Conditioning became incorporated as Marke's Inc.

In 1974, Marke's had grown to 16 employees while concentrating on residential HVAC service, installations, and commercial refrigeration service work.

In 2007, Tim Ferguson was appointed President of Marke's Inc, after being employed for 18 years as a technician and service manager. Marke's is a family business with Tim being the son-in-law of founder, Jack Davis.

The company philosophy reads: Throughout our company history, we have always believed our company's success was in direct proportion to our ability to handle our customer's HVAC needs for comfort, service, installation and maintenance. Our company will always be dedicated to the highest level of integrity, honesty, and dependability when serving our customers or employees needs.
